Tokyo Seas Disney
One thing you need to know about Bogart photo coverage, we don’t take a lot of average, expected, “normal” shots. We find patterns interesting, or people, or architecture. Sometimes this means we miss taking shots of ourselves, or the “must have” shots of the park. So here’s the gallery of what I have to show…
The top row is the new Frozen ride. The line was two hours long. However we tried our first popcorn flavor while we waited. There are eleven taste treats. Any guesses what we started with? Beef! Weird right? But it was rather tasty and stayed in our top three! More flavors to come… Anywho waiting for rides at Disney is an artform all it’s own. They are very good at giving you something to look at while you wait. The other three photos at the top are more Frozen in line shots.
Another stop was da Vinci’s Castle. It is fun place to wander around and look at drawings, play with a planets model, a camera obscura, and get a view of the whole park. We took a bunch of pictures of the doors in the castle. I was the right size for many! teehee. We noted a few nearby popcorn flavors: salted and curry. We skipped them both figuring we knew what they’d taste like.
The third row is the Toy Story Ride. The waiting area features giant toys so you feel small. After all the door photos at the castle it was a must to have the giant door from “Andy’s room.” The ride is an interactive video game. It sounds barf making but it was not, it was great fun. Zach got the high score of course, kids always do. Next, if you squint at the snaps of the pirate ship you’ll see Rod was the captain.
Finally the most surprising thing about Tokyo Seas: Cos Play, short for costume play. Cos play is SUPER DUPER AMAZINGLY POPULAR. We saw so many characters dressed up, not just Disney folk either there were some manga characters as well, at least I think so. There was Anna & Elsa from Frozen, Jasmine and Aladdin, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and countless Zootopia cops. Those are the two in the last picture: Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde. I think they were the most popular. I snapped that pair while we were in line. I should have asked but the language barrier stopped me. So I took this photo on the sly. It was fascinating how elaborate the costumes were. And not just the folks wearing costumes were dressed up, many people visiting for the day were in dresses or dolled up in nice clothes and shoes. So many platform shoes! They are a short people after all. Anywho, it was a fun part of our experience, character watching.
Disney provided a grand last day hurrah to our time in Japan. It’s not for everyone but it was for us. We didn’t go to any temples in Japan but we have five crazy kinds of popcorn: beef, soy sauce & butter, garlic & shrimp, caramel, Chinese chili. The ones we missed were: curry, salted, milk chocolate, black pepper and white chocolate. Arigato Japan!
