Designs of Iona Abbey

I have been finding design elements all over the Abbey. Each section of the choir seats in the church has a different set of circular designs. I used them for inspiration when I did a drawing. The cloisters caught me by surprise too. Each of the 48 pillars in the cloisters has a different design carved on the top. I took pictures of my favorite 32. (Good Grief!) I intend to use them for drawing inspiration too. So much fun to see the details and be here to stare at them for a while. It’s also quite nice to be able to take photos of the abbey from different angles. The last photo in the row is the back of the abbey. I think it looks pretty amazeballs from every view.
