Who Cuts Hair on Iona?

The answer to this question is no one. Haircuts in a salon are an off island event if you need a professional job done. Of course I knew this when I was planning my trip. So the day before I left the States I had my hair cut very short and colored purple. The time has finally come for Plan B.

Some days I’ll now be pulling the whole mess out of my eyes with clips. I must say I’ve lost some of the vanity over my hair. I realized early on that my blow dryer was going to run so hot it might light my hair on fire. I used it one time and gave up. All good when your hair is short. I did the wash and go thing for a while. Arriving at work with a wind blown head. The walk to work on an island in Scotland means there’s a natural blow dryer at work. Anywho, my hair is much longer now and I still don’t care much. Odd.

All that said I do have an appointment August first for a cut and color. In another month my bangs will probably have reached my nose!
