What?! I can share Iona music!!!

I learned a new trick! I can share music with you! I’m so excited to be able to share this joy of some of the music from inside the Abbey on Iona. Listening to it puts me right back there when I close my eyes. I remember standing side by side with people in the service and loving the words and feeling the chords of music land in my body and resonant with love.

Listening was a big part of my time on Iona. I listened to learn the procedures in the kitchen and get the recipes to come out delicious.

I listened to the wind blow and the rain splash on the windows.

I listened to the the trees rustle and lambs bleeping in the paddock.

I listened to the waves brush the sand and slap the boats.

I listened to my breath when I slowed down to take in the glory of a sunset.

I listened to the reflections of thoughtful people when they shared their hearts.

I listened to the quiet in my body when I let myself be still.

And I listened to all the many varieties of music in the abbey.

More music to come, for now I’m walking back into the abbey…
